David Dearden, EdD

David joined the University Advising Center in June 2019.  Prior to working at UNC Charlotte, David worked as the Director of Student Services for the School of Business at the University of Vermont.  David earned his Doctorate in Education from the University of Vermont, Master of Education from Northeastern University, and Bachelor in Theology from St. Joseph’s College.  David is a first-generation college student and enjoys working with other first-generation students.  Some of David’s research interests include online education, student retention, first-generation students, and leadership and collaboration.  In his free time, David enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.10
